How does port forwarding work on a dedicated server?
Traffic that reaches your server's IP on a port you choose is sent down the WireGuard® tunnel to one of your devices. People connect to your server, never to your home connection. Forward any port, TCP, UDP or both, and point each forward at a different device.
How quickly will my server be ready?
Dedicated WireGuard® servers are set up within 24 hours. We email you when it's ready and it appears on your dashboard.
Do I need a VPN plan as well?
No. A dedicated server is a standalone service. If you also have a PremierVPN plan, your server sits alongside our shared network and you can use both.
Is the server really just mine?
Yes. It's a separate server created for your order, with its own IP address. Nobody else connects to it.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. Adding users, downloading configs and setting up port forwards are all done from your dashboard. There's no SSH or command line.
How is this different from a Dedicated IP?
A Dedicated IP is your own address on our shared servers. A dedicated server is a whole server for you, with its own IP and port forwarding.
What happens when I cancel?
The server runs until the end of your billing period, then it's destroyed and the IP released. Nothing is kept.
