This guide shows you how to connect an Android phone or tablet to PremierVPN with Cisco Secure Client (formerly AnyConnect). It connects over port 443, so it often works on networks that block other VPN types.
Want the quickest setup? The PremierVPN app for Android signs in with your portal email and password and needs no manual settings. Use this method if you specifically want AnyConnect.
Before you start: use your VPN credentials
Manual setups sign in with your VPN username and VPN password. These are separate from the email and password you use for the portal and the PremierVPN apps, and the portal login will not work here.
- Find both on your Dashboard under Your VPN credentials. Click Show to reveal the password.
- To change the VPN password, go to Settings › VPN Password. The new password applies from your next connection.

Install Cisco Secure Client
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for Cisco Secure Client (it replaced the older AnyConnect app).
- Install the app.
Add the PremierVPN connection
- Open Cisco Secure Client.
- Tap Connections, then Add New VPN Connection.
- Fill in:
- Description: any name, for example
PremierVPN UK - Server Address: a hostname from the table below, for example
uk.premiervpn.net. You don't need to add a port.
- Description: any name, for example
- Tap Done.
Connect
- Select your PremierVPN connection and turn on the AnyConnect VPN switch.
- When Android asks to allow the VPN connection, tap OK.
- Enter your VPN username and VPN password.
- When you're connected, a key icon appears in the status bar.
To disconnect, open the app and turn the switch off, or use the Cisco Secure Client notification.
Change location
Add another connection with a different hostname, or edit the Server Address of your existing one. You can also copy any hostname from the Servers page in the portal.

Troubleshooting
Login failed or credentials rejected
- Use your VPN username and VPN password from the Dashboard, not your portal email and password.
- If you changed your VPN password recently, enter the new one. Check for extra spaces if you pasted it.
Untrusted server or certificate warning
Our servers use a publicly trusted certificate, so you shouldn't see this. Check that the server address is typed exactly as shown in the table. If the warning still appears, don't connect: open a support ticket and tell us which hostname you used.
The VPN disconnects when the screen is off
Android can stop apps in the background to save battery. Open your phone's Settings › Apps › Cisco Secure Client › Battery and choose Unrestricted (menu names vary by manufacturer).
Android says the network may be monitored
Android shows this for every VPN app. It doesn't mean anyone is watching your traffic.
