Understanding User Limits and Session Limits

Updated 4 Oct 2026 1 min read

This article explains two limits: how many team members a Business VPN plan can have, and how many devices each login can connect at the same time.

Team member limit (Business VPN)

Your Business plan sets the most team members you can add. The Team Management page (Team › Team members) shows how many you've used, for example "3 of 10 members", with a Team Usage bar.

  • Active and suspended members both count. Removed members don't.
  • Your own account, as the owner, isn't counted as a team member.
  • When you reach the limit, the + Add Member button disappears.

Need more members? Open a ticket and we'll talk you through the options.

Device limit per team member

Each team member can connect up to 2 devices at the same time, for example a laptop and a phone. You'll see this as Sessions on the Team Management page and Device Limit on the member's Details page.

There's no setting to change this in the portal. If someone needs more, open a ticket.

Device limit on your own account

Every plan, including Personal VPN and Premium VPN, has a limit on how many devices can connect at once. Your current limit shows on My services, next to the VPN credentials heading (for example "5 devices"). Limits for each plan are on our pricing page.

If you change plan, the new limit applies straight away.

Going over the limit

If you try to connect more devices than your limit allows, the extra connection can be refused. Disconnect a device you're not using and try again.
