How to Set Up Your VPN

Last updated 05 Apr 2026 74 views 🚀 Getting Started

Getting connected to PremierVPN takes under five minutes. This guide covers both our standard WireGuard app and the new PremierVPN X (VLESS + REALITY) app.

Quick Start — 3 Steps

  1. Download the app from your Downloads page
  2. Sign in with your portal email and password (the same login you use on portal.premiervpn.net)
  3. Connect — choose a server and tap Connect

That's it. Your traffic is now encrypted.

Which App Should I Use?

Your subscription includes two apps — use whichever suits your situation:

PremierVPN (WireGuard) PremierVPN X (VLESS + REALITY)
Best for Everyday browsing, streaming, gaming Restrictive networks, censorship, corporate firewalls
Speed Fastest — kernel-level driver Near-native — XTLS zero-copy
Routing All traffic (system-wide) Browsers and most apps (system proxy)
Traffic visibility Detectable as VPN Invisible — looks like normal HTTPS
Available on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, Fire TV macOS, Windows (iOS & Android coming soon)

Our recommendation: Use PremierVPN (WireGuard) for daily use. Switch to PremierVPN X when you're on a network that blocks VPN traffic.

Important: Your Login Credentials

All PremierVPN apps use your portal login — the same email and password you use to sign in at portal.premiervpn.net.

You do not need your VPN username/password (shown on the Dashboard) to use our apps. Those credentials are only needed if you're connecting with a third-party client like AnyConnect, IKEv2, or a standalone WireGuard client.

If you've forgotten your password, click "Forgot password?" on the login page or at portal.premiervpn.net/forgot-password.

Verify Your Connection

After connecting, confirm everything is working:

  • The app shows a green connected status
  • Visit premiervpn.net/ip-leak-test — your IP should show the VPN server's location, not your real IP
  • Try browsing a few websites to confirm they load normally

Can I Run Both Apps?

Yes. PremierVPN and PremierVPN X can both be installed on the same device. Just don't connect through both at the same time — disconnect from one before connecting with the other.
