If your plan has more than you need, you can switch to a lower plan from the client portal. The switch takes effect straight away, and the lower price applies from your next renewal.
Before you downgrade
- Device limit: a lower plan can allow fewer devices at once. The new limit applies immediately, so you may need to disconnect a device. Check the limits on our pricing page.
- Leaving Business VPN: remove your team members first. Team management is only available on Business plans, so the Team section disappears once you switch. See How to Remove a VPN User.
- Dedicated IPs are managed separately under Billing › Add-ons. A plan switch doesn't change them, so check that page afterwards.
- If your service is suspended for an unpaid invoice, pay it first. Plan changes only work on active services.
Switch to a lower plan
- Sign in to the portal and go to Billing › Upgrade plan. This opens the Manage Subscription page.
- In the Change Plan section, click Switch to [plan name] on the plan you want.
- Under Choose billing cycle, click the cycle you want.
- Click OK in the confirmation box.
A message confirms the switch and the rate you'll pay from your next renewal.
What happens to your billing
- You keep your current renewal date. From then you're billed the lower plan's price.
- There's no refund or credit for the rest of the period you've already paid for.
- Your VPN username, VPN password and portal login stay the same.
If you have more than one service, Upgrade plan changes your most recent one. Open a ticket if you need to change a different service.
