This article explains the billing cycles we offer, how renewals work for each payment method, and how to keep track of your renewal date.
Billing cycles
Depending on the plan, you can pay Monthly, Quarterly, every 6 Months, Annually, every 2 Years or every 3 Years. Not every plan offers every cycle. See current prices on our pricing page.
Your billing period starts when your payment is confirmed. To switch cycle later, see How to Change Your Billing Cycle.
Where to see your dates
- My services shows each service's Period start, Period end and Renews date, plus the amount and payment method.
- The Dashboard shows your next renewal date, or a Payment due notice if an invoice is waiting.
- We email renewal reminders 7, 3 and 1 day before renewal. You can turn these off under Account › Email preferences.
How renewals work
Card
If you subscribed by card, your saved card is charged automatically when your service renews. You don't need to do anything. Keep your card up to date under Billing › Payment methods.
PayPal, Bitcoin and Direct Debit
About 7 days before your renewal date, we create a renewal invoice and email it to you. Pay it before the renewal date from Billing › Invoices or the Pay now button on the Dashboard. See How to Pay an Outstanding Invoice.
If you set up an automatic payment to us in PayPal in the past, PayPal renews it for you.
App store subscriptions
If you subscribed in one of our apps through the App Store, Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, the store renews and bills it. We don't send you a separate invoice to pay.
Account credit
Credit isn't taken automatically. When a renewal invoice is waiting and your balance covers the full amount, open the invoice and click Pay with credit.
If a renewal isn't paid, your service is suspended a short time after the renewal date. See What Happens When a Payment Fails.
